International Women's Day! #IWD2023 

Times immemorial, words such as nature, nurture, mother, care, patience, selfless, untiring, and sacrifice have been resonated or personified to a "WOMAN." 


Female identity expanded to almost every industry sector, and the construction industry is no exception. However, female roles in the AEC sector have gained a significant uptick, especially in digital or technology-enabled roles.

 

"Women in Construction" gradually increased their level of embarking upon the harsh / riskier tasks, digitally inclined roles, donning different profiles (from trade workforce, designer, and construction manager to safety and facility management profiles) and climbing up to C-suite positions. 

 

#IWD2023 Theme - DigiALL! - Very apt to our current research, "Women in Digital Leadership Roles"! 

 

Women are now transitioning from tokenism to empowerment! 

Here are a few snippets of one of our research work in progress that depicts a word cloud about the enablers of Women in Digital Leadership roles!

Some of the key insights from our study noted that the facilitators for females in construction to thrive,  were measures such as guidance, mentorship, early career mentors, health aids, celebrating their identity for their sucesses.

Also, we went on to explore the "Governance of women in Digital Roles"  from our study revealed that attributes such as garnering personal attention to the sub-ordinates, agile, adaptability to learn new technologies / environments, being a patient listener, open to experimentation or novel ideas, detail oriented, participatory, collaborative, and empathetic attitude.
